2025 came and went with both extremely wonderfull happenings as well as
its share of very sad news.
Sadly we lost two of our much loved family members,

On July 10 of this year we lost our teacher SGM Sabas Gubaton of
Oido de Caburata Arnis. You will be missed. Our codolences to the Gubaton family.

On December 9 we lost GM Drs Edward Lebe of
Harimau Pasaman Minangkabau Pencak Silat Baringin Sakti. Miss you Guru.
Our condolences to the Lebe family and all Baringin Sakti.

MARI has implemented a "Black Belt" based structure for the Filipino portion of the MARI curriculum. The class structure will still include the Indonesian and Chinese programs traditionally offered at MARI but will now give the the student an opportunity in which to achieve Black Belt Status in the Filipino Martial Arts. While all other previous teaching credentials are still available to our students, full immersion in our curriculum (Filipino, Indonesian and Chinese) would still be necessary to gain "Teaching Certification" through MARI and our Grandmasters / Organizations.

Guros Michael Williams, Guro May Williams and
Guro John Savage were given the honor
of being the teachers chosen to pass on the system of
Oido de Caburata Arnis from Grandmaster Sabas Gubaton
during the 2019 trip to the Philippines hosted by the
Martial Arts Research Institute.

November 19, 2016 Guro Michael Williams
recieved the title of "Pendekar Utama" from
Grandmaster Edward Lebe of
Harimau Pasaman Minangkabau
Pencak Silat - Baringin Sakti Indonesia
while training in the Philippines.
Also receiving title was Guro May Williams and
Guro John Savage, both whom received the
title "Pendekar Muda"
